Catalyst Townhomes

Challenge

The purpose of this building complex was to add multi-family housing in this West Nashville area that was visually unique and structurally strong.

Approach

This project located in West Nashville was quite special and unique. The property consists of 4 separate structures totaling 13 units. On the outside, these multi-family units bring slight whimsy to this neighborhood near White Bridge area. The 4-unit building and 6-unit building sit on the corner, and inside the townhome complex are a one and two-unit buildings tucked away. The warm wooden tones marry the boxy angular frames that shape the front windows. The slatted cedar components fit together in alternating pattern, mimicking the dark and light facades. Four stories of cement board siding at the lower level. Painted cement board in alternating white and gray colors with aluminum panel reveal. This construction is stick-frame over slab. Each unit has a parking garage and a rooftop patio area. The most unique features of this development is the rooftop overhang of the paneled frame-structure.

Notable interior features include marble countertops in cool tones, sleek and functional light fixtures, doors painted dark for accent, and plenty of natural light flooding the living spaces.
